Theological Education has an Affordability Problem

Rising Student Debt

Many prospective students begin seminary already carrying significant undergraduate debt. Traditional programs add even more financial burden, forcing future pastors to make difficult decisions about calling, family, and provision.

Barriers to Ministry

Because of student loan pressure, some graduates feel unable to serve in smaller churches, take part in missions, or pursue pastoral internships. Expensive Seminary courses become a barrier to ministry rather than a pathway into it.

Compromised Standards

To offset financial strain, some institutions reduce course requirements or shorten degree programs. Academic depth, theological rigor, and pastoral formation suffer when economic survival becomes the goal

Global Students Denied

Many faithful men around the world desire solid theological training but cannot access it. High costs make traditional seminary education unattainable, leaving pastors in needy regions without the depth of training they and their churches need.

Together, We Can Change This

CBTS is committed to solving this affordability problem. But we can’t do it alone. Your generosity makes it possible for students to receive high-value, Christ-centered theological education at a low cost that they could not otherwise afford.

Who will Pastor our Churches in 20 years?

When you give to CBTS, you are investing in the church of tomorrow. You are shaping the kinds of shepherds our congregations will have 20 years from now. Giving to this kind of work is an act of gospel partnership, planting seeds that will bear fruit for generations. Even a single gift can change the trajectory of a student’s ministry, and by extension, impact the lives of the people they will one day shepherd.
